As per tradition, student participants of the Guam NSF EPSCoR E-RISE Summer Math Research Experience (SMRE) design a t-shirt for the program to wear on Final Presentation day. This year’s design was a collaborative effort by Angel Samaniengo, Liberal Studies and Human Services major at Guam Community College, and Jay Redila, Civil Engineering major at the University of Guam. The 2026 cohort of the Summer Math Research Experience (SMRE), supported by the University of Guam’s (UOG) NSF EPSCoR E-RISE, completed the program by presenting findings that apply mathematics and data analysis to a select research study focused on corals.

The University of Guam’s (UOG) NSF EPSCoR E-RISE program has started this year’s Summer Math Research Experience (SMRE) and for the first time, welcomed participants from Guam Community College (GCC).

The Guam NSF EPSCoR jurisdiction recently traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana for the first annual EPSCoR Summit presented by the American Association for the Advancement of Science to gain insight on program updates and neighboring research activities happening nationwide 🔬🧬🪸
