Guam NSF-EPSCoR seed funding awards will include support for developing collaborative projects across Guam’s research ecosystem.
Research Focus Areas
Proposal Requirements
Applicants should submit a five (5) page proposal that includes:
- A concise statement describing the project
- The hypothesis or problem being addressed
- An explanation of how the project aligns with the Guam Science and Technology Plan
- The anticipated outcome(s) of the research
- A timeline for project planning and research
Additional documents required:
- A one (1) page project summary
- References cited
- An itemized budget with justification.
Proposals should describe hypothesis-driven research projects that align with at least one of the five (5) opportunity areas (Aquaculture; IT/Data Science/Cybersecurity; Energy; Natural Resources/Sustainable Development; Additive Manufacturing) outlined in the Guam Science and Technology Plan (https://guamepscor.uog.edu/guam-science-technology-plan/).
Successful proposals will be selected based upon relevance to emergent science, research quality, and a demonstrated potential to achieve significant results that could lead to future grant proposal submissions and peer reviewed publications. Awardees will have one year from the award date to complete a project and grants are anticipated to start in June 2026.
Proposal applications should be submitted no later March 31, 2026 (5:00 PM Chamorro Standard Time).
